From Passion to Profession

At the end of 2008 my husband and I decided to move back to South Africa after living in the UK for 9 years. With a vast experience of working overseas in the pharmaceutical environment that was probably the most logical career choice for me. But my passion and heart were more for being in full-time ministry work. I have always been very involved in church and in pastoring and mentoring people. An opportunity arose for me in 2011 to come on staff at the local church we were attending as a pastoral assistant. A few years later I was ordained as a Pastor. I have gained vast experience over the years counselling individuals and couples. In 2018 I did a counselling diploma through the Blackford Centre, and registered as a qualified counsellor. My pharmacy background helps a lot, as a lot of people I have helped over the years have battled with depression and other mental illnesses.

My passion and heart is to see people free from those things that are hindering them being fully themselves. Whether it be due to trauma, abuse, relational issues, death or circumstances outside our control, we let the worries of life and the stress that brings derail us from walking in our true identity and being all God called us to be. Uncertainties and transitions can also threaten our emotional and spiritual well-being. I too have had to overcome and deal with certain experiences and so I know it can be frustrating and hard. One key that has helped me over the years is “perspective”. Perspective is everything. A quote I love is: “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at CHANGE.” I would love to help you, and I believe I have the tools and experience that you need.
